Manchester United fans have named Eric Bailly as a new undroppable player ahead of Sunday’s match against Liverpool.

United reached the summit of the Premier League on Tuesday as their 1-0 victory over Burnley took them three points ahead of the reigning champions Liverpool.

The result has set up a tantalising match-up between the division’s top two sides, the result of which could have massive ramifications for the rest of the season.

The importance of the match certainly isn’t lost on United fans and they have already demanded that Bailly keeps his place in the heart of defence.

Bailly has struggled from injuries throughout his time at United but is now enjoying his best run of form in years.

The Ivorian started his fourth league game in succession at Turf Moor, the first time he has managed the feet since September 2017, and put in another great performance.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side has conceded just three goals in those matches and have looked much more solid at the back, with Bailly never one to shirk the responsibility of putting his body on the line to block a fierce shot or bust a lung to make a perfectly timed tackle.

United supporters have labelled the 26-year-old as ‘undroppable’ and believe he must start at Anfield.

Following the victory over Burnley, Solskjaer previewed the upcoming clash on Merseyside.

“We’re looking forward to it,” Solskjaer said. “We enjoy being where we are at any time, if it’s the first game or last game, it’s a big difference.

“But, at the moment, we are where we are and we go there knowing that we’re playing against the best team by a mile in the country for the last year-and-a-half. They’re champions by right.

“We’re looking forward to it and it’s a great test of where we’re at against a good team.”
