With the announcement of six players that are presently positive for Coronavirus in Inter Milan, the club is experiencing a tough time ahead of their Saturday’s match against their Milan counterpart.
The players who have tested positive for the virus are Ashley Young, Ionut Radu, Roberto Gagliardini, Alessandro Bastoni, Radja Nainggolan, and Milan Skriniar and with this update, the only chance that the club has to play their upcoming match against AC Milan is if there are no further cases of COVID-19 among the players till that day.
In a Sky Sport report, the majority of Inter Milan players that are currently away from Italy for the international break, will return to the club on Thursday and they will all have to undergo one swab test to confirm their state to the disease (whether positive or negative).
Should the results turn out to be negative for all the players, it implies that Antonio Conte would only have a day (Friday) to prepare for their Saturday’s match.
A security distance state of training is presently being observed at the Suning centre for players that have tested negative to the disease and didn’t join their national teams for the break.
According to reports, there is also hope that Bastoni, one of the players who have tested positive for COVID-19 could be allowed to play in the derby match should he have one negative swab when tested on Thursday.
