I hate losing just like Conte, I will later return to Anderlecht – Romelu Lukaku
The Belgium and Inter Milan’s striker Romelu Lukaku has disclosed in a statement with VTM that he detests losing matches just like his club’s coach Antonio ConteAntonio.
In his statement, the player said: “Italy suits my lifestyle. If I had known before, I would have moved here first. At Inter, we play with two forwards. When I play on Conte’s side, he makes himself heard, but me and the coach get along well.
“We are more or less similar. I too, like him hate losing.” In response to his action (refusing the runner-up medal) at the Europa League final match against Sevilla where Inter loss 3-2 to the Spanish side, the Belgian stated that it was a terrible moment for him, having put much effort in getting the cup but all to no avail.
He likened the case to his experience when Belgium lose their semi-final match in the World Cup. He admitted that it took him four or five days to get over the matter.
In his conversation with VTM, he also mentioned that there is a high possibility that he returns to his Belgian club – Anderlecht where he was before coming to England in August 2011 where he played for Everton, West Bromwich, Chelsea, and Manchester United.
He said: “I always follow Anderlecht, I will definitely return.
“Ask guys like Leander Dendoncker, Youri Tielemans. They are still involved with the club too because we had so many good memories there.”
Lukaku who has scored 37 goals in 54 competitive games with Inter Milan, also stated that he is in a good relationship with Thierry Henry who he took as his mentor.
